Little Hug Fruit Barrels is a brand of fruit flavored drink manufactured by the American Beverage Corporation introduced in 1974.[1] The drink is bottled in plastic 8-ounce shaped bottles and 16-ounce bottles as Big Hug.
In 2015, Royal Wessanen sold the American Beverage Corporation to Harvest Hill Beverage, owner of Juicy Juice.[2]
In early May 2013 the company introduced new Wild Berry, Lemon Berry, and Cherry Berry to the Little Hug product line. They also have Tropical flavours Orange, Fruit Punch, Lemonade, and Tropical Punch.[4]
In March 2015, the American Beverage Corporation sold the rights of the Little Hug brand to Harvest Hill Beverage Corporation for $55 Million. Since the purchase of the Little Hug and Big Hug rights, Harvest Hill Beverage Corporation has reduced the amount sugar in each bottle.[5]
Little Hugs was a symbolic drink through the 70s and 80s.[6]
Little Hug has an endorsement with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who is a NASCAR racer. He drives a Ford Fusion in the races.
